Overview

What Gemini is

Gemini is Google's family of AI models and the assistant built on them. It handles text, images, audio and video, and is integrated into Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive and Android.

Its main advantage is fit: when your documents, email and calendar sit in Google's ecosystem, Gemini can work with them directly, subject to your administrator's settings.

Current models. Public reports describe Gemini 3.5 Flash (May 2026) and Gemini 3.6 Flash (July 2026), with Gemini 4 expected before the end of 2026. Confirm on Google's blog.

  3. Ask your administrator which Workspace data Gemini may access.

Watch-outs

  • Features differ by plan and region; check what your organization has actually enabled.
  • Treat generated summaries of long sources as leads and verify the important parts.
